New York – Newsweek, the modern global digital news organization, has launched a series spotlighting the most pivotal voices in society, politics and culture.
Called “Newsmakers,” the premiere episode features a conversation with legendary Oscar-winning filmmaker Spike Lee.
“We’re proud to launch our new video-first series, especially because it’s designed to bring audiences closer to the people shaping our world,” said Dev Pragad, Owner and CEO at Newsweek.
“Spike Lee is an icon, a filmmaker whose career has consistently pushed the boundaries and sparked vital conversations through the power of storytelling,” noted Pragad.
Future episodes of Newsmakers will offer a cinematic window into the minds of leaders, artists and changemakers, whose impact extends well beyond the headlines.
In this powerful conversation, Lee reflects on the 100th anniversary of Malcolm X, the lasting cultural legacy of the iconic civil rights leader and how actor Denzel Washington’s portrayal continues to inspire generations.
